Hi, I’m Marta a wife and a mother of two. From as far back as I can remember I have had a fascination with fashion. As a young girl I remember watching Fashion TV, and reading all the latest magazines. To this day it is still a fun and creative outlet. Although, I have to admit that I was starting to get stuck in a “mom rut” as in taking little time for self-care, and wearing the same comfortable things in my wardrobe much too often. Starting this blog was part of my inspiration to reignite this passion and to also have my own time outside of this adventure called mommyhood.
I have always believed you do not have to spend a fortune or follow every trend to have great style! This blog is therefore focussed on being fashionable and looking your best for less. I will be sharing fashion finds, my everyday style, and helping guide you to the right places to find great pieces, and deals.
I will also be sharing easy dessert recipes here and there. As with fashion my sweet tooth goes way back but my love for baking only recently began. I love seeing others enjoy my baked goodies and wanted to share recipes with you too.
There you have it: Fashion + a side of desserts = “Sweaters, Stripes & Sweets” 😉
I hope to make connections and learn new things, challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone, and hopefully inspire other women along the way both to feel their best and have fun with fashion at any age.
Here’s a bit more about me:
Although I have no professional fashion background in my younger years I worked in the retail fashion industry both in a designer women’s area of a department store and shoe shop. I enjoyed this time and it contributed to my ever growing love for all things pretty!
I also attended University where I received two degrees, the first was my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and the second was my Bachelor of Social Work. After two years of practice in an agency I went back to school and completed my Master of Social Work. I have now spent over a decade in the field and have enjoyed being able to use my skills to help others. However, I am officially taking a break from from my career. I decided to take an extra year off after my second maternity leave to soak up and enjoy every single moment with my children.
Thanks so much for visiting, hope you enjoy your time with me and will stop by often.
