Stylish On A Budget Wardrobe Essentials

Being Stylish On a Budget: Old Navy Style

Leopard scarf / Jacket / Booties / Barcelona cami / similar distressed jeans

I know Old Navy is not for everyone and many people look surprised when I say I shop there (it may be a Canadian thing as I think Old Navy is more popular in the States) but boy do I love me some good Old Navy finds such as this stylish look.  Yes other than the jeans the jacket, scarf and booties are all from Old Navy!  Being stylish on a budget is easy as long as you find the right pieces such as these.

I have always said that chic modern accessories are a simple way to update your look and stay on trend.  This leopard oversized scarf is such a great piece, I have literally been wearing it everyday since I bought it.  It’s currently on sale and I would recommend this as a wardrobe essential.  It looks great with a sleek all black look and is perfect with denim for an edgier look.  I would also wear it with a simple dress at work, really the styling options are endless.

This marled jacket is such a chic outerwear piece and I have also been wearing this everyday along with my scarf because the two go so well together.  It’s soft and cozy, I’ll be wearing it into winter as well with a heavier sweater and my winter accessories.  It’s something that looks good dressed down such as with my distressed jeans but I have also worn it to work with dressy palazzo pants which gave it an elegant classic vibe.

Finally these ankle strap booties are simply the best booties I purchased this season and funny that they are also the most budget friendly.  They also come in brown and I am quite tempted to get those too.  This bootie is very comfy and looks great with either pants or a skirt/dress.  I know I sound like a broken record but yep I have also been wearing these practically everyday, loving that they stand out with the mixed material.

Being stylish on a budget has never been so easy given how stores such as Old Navy keep stepping up their game and creating on point pieces in their seasonal collections.

  1. Purchase chic accessories from budget-friendly retailers. My personal fave is scarves by far as they are so much fun and you can choose from brights, to florals, animal prints and classic neutrals. Other fashionista’s love hats and belts which are also practical pieces to keep your style relevant.  Charming Charlie and Aldo Accessories are two of my faves.
  2. Sign up for store e-mails so that you are the first to know about sales and often get special offers.
  3. Purchase up to date costume jewelry at stores such as Old Navy, Forever 21 and H & M.  There’s no point in spending lots of money on trendy costume jewelry that you will not want to wear a year from now.
  4. Invest in wardrobe essentials that are good quality and will last for years to come.  For example I love bags and used to buy so many cheaper bags each year but I would still end up spending close to hundreds and they never seemed to last or I would quickly grow bored of them.  Now I much prefer to purchase a quality designer bag such as this and this which are classic, versatile and will stand the test of time both in terms of quality and not going “out of style”.  Other pieces I recommend investing in are winter coats and winter boots because warmth is key and you want items that will endure the harsh weather.  Personally I also invest in quality watches on occasion and premium denim as those are two items I love.

I love Old Navy too and I totally agree: Why spent tons of money on accessories when you know that you won’t wear them next season! Plus I am a big believer that you style street fashion high end…It’s all about mix and matching. Anyhow, you look so cozy and chic, my friend! LOVE YOU!
