Since my little girl started school in September my personal style has been evolving to a little bit more ‘sporty chic’ and less glam. By sporty chic I don’t mean I’m walking around in oversized football jersey’s and high-top kicks, I’m more referring to sporty pieces such as sneakers, causal jackets, puffer vests or plain cotton tunics. I’m not sure if this is because I need to be more comfy with the drop-off and picks ups twice a day or I’m just becoming more partial to sporty looks, it’s probably a combination of both. Some of the things I’ve added to my wardrobe is my first pair of classic all-white Converse, this pair of leopard sneakers above, more casual tunics and this quilted fleece lined vest I’m wearing in this post. This vest is another item from Old Navy, you can get it for under $25 and they have a variety of colours to choose from. I wore this out for a day of running errands and not only did I like the look I also loved the convenience of being warm without wearing or feeling constrained by a heavy jacket. In fact I liked it so much that I’m thinking of investing in a quality one such as a Canada Goose. I’m not sure I will take the plunge just yet since those are quite expensive. Although living in a climate with very cold long winters definitely requires investments for quality winter gear so that is the one thing that might sway me at some point to get one. I also just bought my first pair of Sorel winter boots at DSW (which finally opened in Canada, yay!!) and I may regret saying this but I’m kind of excited for some snow so I can wear them.
Puffer/quilted vests come in many styles, here are a few of my picks:
