Happy Wednesday and hope you are all having a fantastic week so far! My entire household has been sick going on two weeks now so I apologize about missing Monday’s post. We are all on the mend though and I really shouldn’t complain in any case as there is far worse then suffering from a cold/flu bug. Today I’m excited to share this Day To Night post in which I wear one piece two ways and my feature is distressed denim. I know many people think this is not for them but there is no need to be afraid of this trend because it has been around for many years and does not look like it will go away anytime soon. It’s not even considered a trend anymore it is just another style of jeans and I encourage you to try it if you haven’t yet. The key is to keeping the rest of your look simple and go with a distressed style that you are comfortable with. For example I could not see myself wearing heavily shredded denim or denim with exaggerated large holes so I went with a more subtle distressed pair in a versatile dark wash. These are my first pair and I have been playing around with different looks for them. I’m glad I went out of my comfort zone because they are a fun fresh addition to any denim collection and I think you all know I’m a big fan of anything denim.
For my day look I went with a comfy oversized sweater with zipper detailing and my rose gold flats. You could also wear sneakers or loafers with a look like this and any basic tunic. In the winter I’ll switch up the flats with boots, add a jacket and will be good to go. I will always go with neutral and simple when it comes to statement distressed jeans as I prefer not being over accessorized or having another bold piece compete.
This night look is my next date night outfit I just need to find the time for a date night, here’s to hoping I can organize one soon so I can finally wear these leopard heels. I’ve written before about leopard being a neutral so I think a pair of leopard heels like this are an essential for any woman’s wardrobe. They add such a chic pop to any outfit and can take a boring look to the next level. For this night look I went with a velvet blazer, my white Barcelona cami and leopard clutch and heels. You can go with a neutral bag if this is too much leopard or neutral shoes, I was feeling the “matchy-matchy” look that day. For a different night look you can also wear a dressy blouse and throw over a poncho and a pair of heeled boots for another perfect night look.
Do you have a pair of distressed denim? How do you like styling them?
