Fashion Features Outfit of the Day (OOTD)

Fall Outfit Formula & Feature

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.  We had a fun family weekend with a visit to a pumpkin patch, a day at Canada’s Wonderland (theme park) and luckily the weather held up great for both. Today’s OOTD is based on one of my staple outfit formula’s:

skinny jeans + tunic + flats + cozy scarf = perfect fall outfit

Fall Outfit Formula and Feature 03

Fall Outfit Formula and Feature Collage 01

J Brand skinny jeans / similar tunic / similar scarf / similar flats / earrings c/o Colorful Way / similar sunnies / Tiffany bead bracelets (here, here & here)

This is a go to for me and a simple outfit formula for anyone to follow on those days you are in a rush and need something cute and chic to wear.  Of course the possibilities are endless in terms of colours, type of denim and accessories you go with.  Another option I love is dark denim skinnies, with leopard flats a white tunic and bright scarf.

Now can we talk about these pretty turquoise and black beaded earrings I’m wearing? They were sent to me from an Etsy shop owner named Rachel. She contacted me and asked that I check out her very recently opened shop, Colorful Way.  One of the things that really struck me with Rachel was the thoughtful and personalized e-mail she wrote. All of you fellow bloggers know how we are often sent bulk and impersonal e-mails. I have turned down many offers and do my best to only accept collaborations that are a right fit for me and are congruent with my blogs readership. This feature definitely felt right and different then those generic ones. I’m happy to support her as I liked the earrings in her shop and she’s also a regular mom like me following one of her dreams.

Her shop has a variety of earrings that are great for everyday use yet still have a fun and chic element.  My earrings arrived in pretty packaging (see above-it was nice to receive a hand written note too). I could see the work and detail she put into them so I was satisfied with my choice.  Hope you all pop by her shop (check out the discount rate she is offering below), here are a few of my faves:

I asked Rachel to participate in a mini interview so you could get to know her a bit more.

1. What inspires you when you are creating a new piece?
At least once a week, I go out to my favorite bead shop and looking at new beads and stones give me so many ideas!

2. What are your tips for other women who are interested in starting their own shop?
I was always good with attention to details and very creative since I was young.
The joy of creating what I love and the hope to spread the word on my Jewelry gave me the courage to start my shop. I think that anything is possible when you know that you love something and want to share it with people!

3. What is your favourite item in your shop? and why?
Honestly, I love all my items on my shop…
But if I have to choose one, it would be the Silver Dangle Earrings with Beige Gold Swarovski Pearls and Purple Pink Square Swarovski Crystals https://www.etsy.com/listing/206147811/silver-dangle-earrings-with-beige-gold
Because I used these beautiful Swarovski Pearls and Square Swarovski Crystals, and they make any kind of outfit super chic and stylish!!!

4. What are some future goals for your shop?
I’m in the process of creating Gold Jewelry now and hopefully I can expand my Jewelry lines to Necklaces and Bracelets too!!

***Rachel has kindly offered a 10% discount rate exclusive to my readers from now until November 30, 2014. Use this code at checkout: MAMA10.

She also wanted to let you all know that 20% of the sales she makes in October are going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Hello Marta! First, I want to say that I am very happy you got to enjoy your weekend especially visiting the pumpkin patch. Your outfit is adorable. Love the grey color of the scarf, the comfy top with the skinny jeans… And I like the option you suggested of pairing it with a pair of animal print flats. Also, I am very proud of your for hosting Rachel and producing such a beautiful post. I get what you say about doing what feels right and that little now she wrote to me, it means a lot. There are a lot of people that are just there for the money or the fame but have no passion at all and that is a deal breaker for me. I believe that passion is the key factor for success. I will definitively look into Rachel’s store to see what she has. Thanks for sharing. XOXO, Jeannette
