Happy September friends and sorry about being MIA these last couple of weeks. Life happened and I was enjoying the end of summer with the kiddies and hubby. Plus last week our computer unexpectedly had a hard drive failure so I couldn’t post on my regular day.
Well it’s official school has started and just like that we are back to our daily routine. My big girl is now in grade one and she loves her new teacher so mama could not be more relieved the first week was a success.
The September whether has been great so I’m still all about wearing my sandals. Up here boots are a staple for probably eight months of the year so I stretch out sandal season as long as I can.
Speaking of stretching out summer style one of my favourite trends this summer was floral embroidery (see this post). I’m happy to report floral embroidery is going strong into fall/winter. You can find it on everything from boots, to accessories and outerwear. I found this embroidered mini dress at Zara and although it’s no longer online I found an almost exact replica here.
It’s such a pretty piece and I wore it with white denim just to hang on to my summer style a little longer. This dress is one of those versatile pieces you can wear to work, church or a date night. I will be styling it with skinny black pants and booties for work or dark distressed denim and over the knee boots for a date night. It can be worn as a dress for a more petite person but being 5″10 it’s too short for me…tall girl problems.
Another trend I’m excited will still be around this season is block heels as I’m not much of a stiletto kinda girl (mostly because they are not comfy). These gorgeous block heel sandals I’m wearing were a lucky find in Marshall’s (I linked to some similar ones above).
Embroidery is feminine, on trend and adds interest to otherwise boring pieces, just look at all of these beauties I found. You can go bold with these statement booties (8) or jeans (6) or for a more subtle touch the tunic (3) or chic mules (7) are perfect!
Thanks for stopping by and reading!
