It’s been a while since I’ve done a life lately post so I wanted to share this spring and now summer 2017 edition. I have to say the spring is somewhat of a blur, so much was going on and work was particularly busy and stressful so let’s just focus on the positive here today shall we.
My husband and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in May, he surprised me with diamond earrings and planned a whole day to ourselves. We started with a lovely lunch at Belsito restaurant (pic below) in Kleinburg which is a pretty town north of where we live.
After that we spent some time strolling in the quaint neighbourhood and then headed off to pick up our girls and drop them off at my parent’s.
From there we headed downtown to an amazing restaurant called Scaramouche. If you are ever in Toronto you MUST go there, it is world-class and every single dish was culinary perfection. I had never been before and as we drove through the residential neighbourhood and then pulled into a cul-de-sac with a condo apartment at the end I thought we were lost. To my surprise we were in the right location, this restaurant is in the most unassuming place literally in the basement of a residential building. However, as you walk down the stairs the wow factor hits with the elegant decor and large windows with a fantastic view of the city skyline.
The coconut cream pie is to die for…
I was lucky enough to have two girls nights in June. Below are the pics from a fun night with one of my besties, we don’t get to see each other often but every time we do it’s as if no time has passed. I think this is what the greatest friendships are made of, no matter how much time passes the bond is always there and you have that familiarity and comfort with each other. We had great conversation, cocktails and cheesecake need I say more…
The hubs and I had a date day and went to catch Wonder Woman, I have to say I loved it. It was entertaining, had a great story line plus strong women kicking major butt was pretty cool. If you get a chance this is definitely a must-see summer blockbuster.
I’m excited to share we will be headed to beautiful Mayan Riviera, Mexico at the end of July for my b-day celebration. We went last year for our first family trip and it was a total success. I have been counting down the days for our next trip and looking forward to ringing in a milestone birthday with my three favourite people on the planet. I’ll be sharing a review post of our resort in August so stay tuned for that.
You know I can’t have a post without some sort of fashion talk, now that we are heading south I have been stocking up on beach wear and summer dresses. Here are some of my recent purchases and wish list items:
I’ve mentioned before how I go on music binges and as of late it has been all about retro 80’s. I mean it’s seriously some of the best music ever, so much fun to listen to, lighthearted and it just makes me happy. Here are two of my all-time favourite songs from the 80’s, “The Promise” is probably one of my all-time favourite songs ever. Not sure if anyone has seen the movie Napoleon Dynamite but this song always reminds me of that movie which in my opinion is one of the best comedic movies of all-time. Oh wow after reading this paragraph it’s clear I can be a tad over dramatic given how often I have written “all-time favourite”:). Anywho enjoy these songs and the beautiful summer sun, till next time friends…
