Life Lately: Winter Edition

Hello my friends it’s been a while and I’ve missed you all! Is it really February already?…I don’t ever remember a month flying by as fast as January did but I for one am glad it’s over.  It was a rough month for many people I have spoken to including yours truly. The change at work took longer than expected and was the source of fair share of stress and anxiety given I did not have much say in the process.  I just began on my new team and new position on Monday so it will take some time getting used to.  Through it all though faith and God’s eternal presence in my life gave me the strength I needed to face each day and for that I am grateful. By the end of the month (just when I needed it the most) I received many little blessings and I knew it was God’s way of letting me know all would be okay.  On one particular day I was reminded of a sweet book I read many years ago called When God Winks as I experienced a couple of random “coincidences” that certainly had more purpose than meets the eye.

It’s my first day back in over a month and I’m looking forward to this year ahead on the blog. It’s funny on one of those day that everything seemed to be going wrong I received an e-mail from a cool company with the opportunity to work on an upcoming campaign (I’ll be posting on Friday but if you want a preview checkout my Facebook or Instagram page where I already shared the Valentine’s day offer and discount code) and at the risk of sounding a bit superficial it really was just the right thing at the right time. It reminded me how much fun blogging can be and how it’s my creative space. Truth be told I have always been the one out of my friends and family who has a serious obsession with all things fashion so naturally fashion blogging was the right way to go!

Way back on New Year’s eve we headed to the Royal Ontario Museum for the day with our girls.  My girls have a keen interest on ancient Egypt so they thoroughly enjoyed this exhibit. We had the pleasure of visiting the limited-time Chihuly exhibit and it was absolutely incredible, if you are a fan of glass art it was literally glass art paradise. I first discovered Chihuly’s work at the Bellagio hotel in Vegas where their main lobby ceiling is covered with his stunning glass flowers. Here are some pics:

My girls chilling in a Chihuly room with the other artsy folk:)

As usual I have been on the hunt for simple recipes and found this yummy One Pot Chicken and Rice dish and these super simple Chocolate Chip muffins.  I love that both of these recipes have basic ingredients you can find in your pantry/fridge.

On cold winter nights I love to snuggle up at home and watch a movie.  Here are some we have recently watched and I can’t complain as both the hubs and I enjoyed all of these films.  They all had great story telling and strong casts.

In theatres we watched the cute and funny Sing with the girls for our first movie together as a family.  The hubs and I had a date night in December and caught Rogue One which was definitely entertaining and nostalgic for any Star Wars fans out there.

I have been frugal this month when it comes to shopping, like most of us I went over budget during the holidays so it was all about saving in January.  But….after the month I had I decided to treat myself in February and bought a few pieces, I lucked out finding this textured cardigan-coat, this cute ruffle-sleeve top and this swing blouse all budget-friendly from Old Navy and perfect for my business casual work environment.

As you know I’m pretty eclectic when it comes to my love of music, as of late I’ve been digging this powerful song:

**Remember to stop by on Friday when I’ll be posting all of the details on a campaign with a special FREE bonus for Valentine’s day and a discount code for my readers!**

Thanks for stopping by and reading!

So glad you are back Marta! It’s amazing how God helps us out. I know there are no “coincidences” but I always am amazed at what He does for myself and others like you. Thanks for sharing. I am interested in those recipes and look forward to your collaboration this Friday. Happy Wednesday!

Welcome back! I really enjoyed this post – God is truly with us each step of the way – and those small blessings of “I’m still here” are just that – a blessing to help us. I am an eclectic music person, too. I enjoyed the movie Sully. Hope you have a wonderful day!
