Hello my friends hope that you all enjoyed your weekend! We had a long weekend in Toronto as Monday was what we call “Family Day” so we enjoyed our time together and headed over to the Museum with the girls on Sunday and Saturday was all about being outdoors…we took some post pictures and the girls played in the snow, definitely a favourite past time for them this time of year. Monday we had a fun nature walk in a nearby forest area and the rest of the day was mostly for catching up to house chores…I know a little ho hum but hey that’s the life of a parent.
I’m all about the comfort factor in the winter months and this black and white pullover (it’s listed as a sweatshirt online but I think it’s more of a causal pullover) is a winner in my eyes. It’s a versatile wardrobe basic and I styled it both for a casual sporty look and also a work outfit as I know I’ll be getting good use of this top for my day job. The top itself is a thick fabric making it great for winter and the white material is not transparent eliminating the need to layer. Best part yet is that it’s a total steal on sale at less than $15 (updated price).
For the sporty chic or athleisure look I went with my classic Adidas kicks and moto jacket. I kept a touch of glam with this adorable Rebecca Minkoff bag for a bit of a contrast.
For my work outfit I choose my basic black wool jacket and comfy block heels. I can’t wear stiletto’s to work as they are too uncomfortable to wear thoughout the day so when I do need a heel a practical block heel is the way to go.
This weekend the whether was much more mild but not yet warm enough to start wearing my spring clothing, I’m hoping to start having more “springy” photo shoots soon but given that I live in Canada I’m not holding my breath, ha:) This is just about that time of year that I start counting down to warmer sunnier days but for now a bit of spring shopping will have to suffice. If you too have had enough of winter check out this post I wrote last year 5 Ways To Beat The Winter Blues.
